"Western Roadhouse" lyrics - GEORGE MCANTHONY

GEORGE MCANTHONY
"Western Roadhouse"
(G. McAnthony)

"last summer on a hot August day I had to drive from Cuneo to L'Aquila and stopped at various roadhouses along the italian highway. After this 10 hour journey, when I reached my destination, I had the inspiration to compose this song."

I guess it was two years ago, was driving on a desert road / it felt so hot, boy, it did not rain / was on the way to Mexico and saw a sign beside the road "If you need anything come on just drive in" / oh oh, so I drove in

At the Western Roadhouse there's a party every night and every day, in Arizona / every one is grooving, every one is moving his feet, to the Hillbilly beat

Sitting there, drinking my beer, the fiddler he was coming near / "We ain't got no singer, would you join right in?" / and the guitar played / oh oh, so I began to sing

At the Western Roadhouse there's a party every night and every day, in Arizona / every one is grooving, every one is moving his feet, to the Hillbilly beat

So we were playing all night long, the party crowd would not go home / when the sun came up I finally gotta move on / still on the way to Mexico, another sign beside the road "If you need anything come on just drive in" / oh oh, start dancing / oh oh, it's gonna be late, boy / oh oh, so I drive in
